Strong Emergence

How should institutions distribute work, care, and resources so that economic organization supports collective well-being?

System Description

This trio examines how institutional and economic arrangements distribute health across populations. Business structures employment, insurance, compensation, organizational resources, and service delivery. Social establishes relationships, collective responsibility, inclusion, power, and institutional participation. Health reflects the consequences for well-being, safety, access, and care. The trio is broader than workplace wellness. It explains how economic and social structures jointly determine who receives care, who bears risk, and whose well-being is protected.

Why all three matter

All three elements are required to explain how institutions organize resources and relationships in ways that distribute health.

Constructive Expressions

Constructive expressions include healthcare systems, workplace protections, paid leave, insurance, social enterprise, community care, and institutions that align economic organization with public well-being.

Common Imbalances

Imbalances include health inequity, labor exploitation, unaffordable care, burnout, exclusion from benefits, and institutions that externalize human costs.
